The St Francis Church, where the famous Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gamas body was initially buried, is yet another significant tourist hotspot in Kochi well known for its beautiful architecture and ambience, it is one of the oldest churches built by the Europeans. The church is open to visitors from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM. Dutch Palace, which is also known as Mattancherry Palace, though built by the Portuguese, it is a perfect example of Kerala style architecture. Places to visit The Eravikulam National Park in Munnar is one of the five national parks in Kerala, with rich flora and fauna, which is home to the famous Nilgiri Thar. The park closes at 4 PM. The Mattupetty Dam/Lake is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Munnar, surrounded by lush green forest. Open from 9:30 AM till 5 PM. The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary – declared a Tiger Reserve in 1978 is one of the world’s most fascinating wild life reserves stretching to a total of 777sq km of which 360 km is thick ever green forest.
